Aileen M. (Salera) Pace
Our beloved mother, Aileen, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022. She was born to the late Albert and Isabel Salera on August 26, 1933 in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, A. Samuel Pace, and all of her siblings: Ann (Sam) Sappo, Albert (Betty) Salera, and James (Angie) Salera. Aileen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very much loved and will be missed terribly. Aileen and Sam raised their family in Penn Hills, PA. In her usual fashion, she put her loved ones needs ahead of her own as a stay-at-home mom. Aileen's favorite activities were spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed family vacations, family dinners, and time spent with everyone together. Aileen is survived by her four children: Cindy (Gerald, deceased) Hanzel, Samuel (Lisa) Pace, Diane (Jim) Benick, and Stephen (Cindy) Pace. She was the proud grandmother of Eric (Maria) Hanzel, Matthew (Sara) Pace, Anthony Pace, Jennifer Jozsa, and Michael Winters. She came to be known as "Gug" or "Guggy". In her later years, she loved being great-grandmother to Troy, Ryan, Alessandra, Logan, and Zachary. Friends Received Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. A Funeral Mass will held on Tuesday at 10 AM at Mother of Sorrows Church in Murrysville, PA.
