Barbara A. Garrison

Barbara A Bonner-Garrison died peacefully on July 30th 2023 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on June 26th 1949 in Pittsburgh PA. Growing up most of her life in the East liberty area of Pittsburgh. She was a graduate of Westinghouse high school and also an Alumni of the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed church ,music, movies and books , but nothing more than cooking and her family. Barbara was a person of faith and was always there to guide you .barb did so many things she was a candy striper in mercy hospital mentorship program for young men, an educator for food programs for just harvest and the Penn state Co-operative for which she received awards. There was so much richness and wisdom in her life. Barbara marched to the capital many times on men's and womens' issues and  was a council of social services that she helped establish at the Wilkinsburg “Y’. She was known as miss fashionista ,maker of games ,musician of various instruments and organizer of old folks day, She will be truly missed but never ever forgotten. A true matriarch of her family a mother to all, and even now through her passing is bringing her family back closer together than ever We sometimes lose the greatest valuable in our life, a person, a friend , a family member who gave us counsel ,support ,advise , But most of all Love unconditionally, Until we see you again like Celeste used to say ‘Smooches” I LOVE YOU ALL ! And if you knew Barbara at all her response was always the same. I KNOW THATS RIGHT .

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents ,Edgar J Bonner ,Mary J Bonner, Sister- Beverly J Pasch’l ,brother - Gary L Bonner , sister - Kimberly A Bonner. She leaves behind son -Jamal R Garrison (spouse) Michelle ,Daughter - Sonja C Garrison, brother- James E Bonner (buddy) (spouse )Susan , sister Jo Elaine Barnes (spouse) Michael Barnes, sister - Lorraine Perkins (spouse/deceased) Paul Perkins, sister - Charlotte Elizabeth Lewis(spouse) Leandrew Lewis, sister -Gloria Jean Bonner (kelly) sister- Ruth Lynn Bonner, sister - Allyson Camille Bonner, Grandchildren , Madyson C Brown , Devin J Garrison, Ramon L Garrison, Syrus M-M Brown , August F Brown , Michael M O’Malley ,Steven M Freudenthal and various other nieces and nephews cousins and great grand kids
