Dolores A. (Cyphers) Ewart, a longtime resident of Plum Boro, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on June 1, 2025. Born July 12, 1928 to Phillip A. and Stella (Seruset) Cyphers, Dolores grew up with her older sister Dorothy in the family home in the city of Pittsburgh. Theirs was a talented, music, loving family and Dolores enjoyed performing the Big Band and Swing music popular in that era on her alto saxophone. She graduated from Westinghouse High School. Dolores married William A. Ewart, Jr. and together they raised their three children: Mark, Suzanne, and Janet in Plum Boro. She was of the Roman Catholic religion and faithfully attended St. John the Baptist Church for most of her life. She enjoyed her employment with the Sears Roebuck Co. and was a dedicated employee at the Wilkins Township store. She love to play cards, especially 500, and socialized frequently with her family and many friends. Mom and Dad were avid golfers and enjoyed many golf outings with the close-knit members of the golf group Dad organized. Dolores spent her later years living and socializing at Seneca Hills Village in Verona. She is survived by her children: Mark Ewart and his wife Claudia, Suzanne (Ewart) Dees, and Janet (Ewart) Palmer, six grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
