Dolores F. Morante (Mikeska), 86 of Penn Hills, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on March 7, 2023. Dolores is survived by her husband of 65 years, Carmen J. Morante, Jr., son Anthony J. Morante(Tammy), Daughter Lisa M. Morante (Jim Jarrett) and grandchildren Justin K. Morante and Angelique M. Morante. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bertha Mikeska, and brother Stanley Mikeska (Hazel). Dolores is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family, and many, many friends who were like family.
“Dee” spent 38 years working at the YMCA in Penn Hills as executive assistant and a helper to anyone who needed a friendly hand. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage, while becoming an excellent cook of Italian food & cookies. The matriarch of family parties and holidays, she always made everyone feel welcome.
Family and friends received Sunday March 12, 2023, 1 – 4 pm & 6 – 8 pm at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral Mass at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, St. Susanna Church, Penn Hills on Monday March 13 at 10:30 a.m.
