Doris Louise Strothers was born March 2, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pa to Lucille Crockett and William Smith she is proceeded in death by all her siblings Ruth, Gertrude, Lucille, Audrey, Joseph, Henry, Ginny and William. She attended George Westinghouse High School. She met and married Mike Strothers in April of 1949, that union bore 3 children: Deborah, John and Anthony Strothers.
Doris came to learn about Jehovah from a friend Mary Yaegar and Ophelia Pope. In her Bible study, her love for Jehovah began to grow she dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized April 1955. She allowed Jehovah to guide her life and thus raised her children with an unbelieving mate to know about Jehovah. Occasionally she would Auxiliary Pioneer; she became a Regular Pioneer in December 1987 and continued until her death. Her zeal for the ministry was an encouragement to all that knew her, you could set your watch to her ministry schedule. She offered love and encouragement to countless many.
She is survived by her children: Deborah, John (wife Susan), Anthony (wife Yolanda). Grandchildren: Nicole (husband Lamont), Shawn, Michael (wife Severina), Jon (wife Rachael), Robert (wife Whitney) and Vinnie (wife Desiree) and Brittany.
Great Grandchildren: Cameron, Victoria, Jayden, Alex, Vinnie Jr, Malik, Zarah, Alex, Brooklyn, Kaylee and Akiah. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many spiritual brothers and sisters.
Granny (which she was affectionally called) will be missed but we know she is safe in Jehovah’s memory and we will see her again. (John 5:28,29).
