Elaine Walshesky Obituary

Elaine Walshesky, 81, of Mentor, previously of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
She was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh.
Elaine was a very fun and social person who treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an animal lover and made friends everywhere she went. She adored Christmas and loved to watch holiday movies. Elaine loved to play bingo, working on puzzles and attending happy hour with her friends in Mentor. “She brings sunshine wherever she goes.”
She was the devoted mother of James A. (Robin) Walshesky Jr., Wendy Walshesky and Amy (Tom Pofl) Abaray; loving grandmother of Rachael Abaray, Holden Sommers, Alexandra Pofl, Ryan Sommers, Joseph Pohl and Samantha Pirnat; great-grandmother of Lilith, Vasili and Anysia Pohl; and sister-in-law of Sandra Walshesky.
Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Walshesky, Sr.; parents, Domenico and Irene (nee Mariuzza) Ponzetto; sister, Mary Lou Miller; brother, Richard (Andrea) Ponzetto; parents-in-law, Anthony and Irene Walshesky; sister-in-law, Barbara Toomey; and most recently, her brother-in-law, Samuel Walshesky.
All are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life Service on the following days/locations:
Friday, May 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio.
Tuesday, May 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Charles W. Trenz Funeral Home, 11110 Frankstown Rd., Pittsburgh, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m., at St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Rd., Penn Hills, PA
