Elissa Agatha (Schlenker) Duane Manka
Elissa departed for her final cruise from the port of Concordia Monroeville due to many surgical maladies and, finally, dementia.
She began her journey as an adoptee of a loving German immigrant couple, Conrad and Rose, and grew up in Penn Hills. She was preceded in death by her two beloved children who both succumbed to tragic demises - Michelle in New York City and Michael in Islamorada, Fla. She is survived by her husband, Paul, and her four "adopted" grandchildren: Callie, Sam, Kathleen, and Austin.
Throughout her life, Elissa worked as a secretary and office manager for several accounting firms and for the Greater Pittsburgh Psychological Association. She enjoyed traveling extensively with family and friends on cruises, camping clubs, scouting activities, and diving adventures, and took great pride in participating in band activities with both Michael and Paul.
Elissa's smile and joie de vivre will be missed dearly by many friends and acquaintances with whom she warmly interacted.
Friends received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA
