Eugene "Gene" Frank Ventura

Eugene Frank “Gene” Ventura passed away peacefully at home at the age of 87 on Monday, January 27, 2025.  He will be missed by wife Linda Bisgaard, his son Scott Ventura (Mara) of Illinois, grandson Ian, sister-in-law Roberta, nieces Kathy and Mary Beth, nephew Kevin, and their families.  He was predeceased by parents Frank and Katherine (Saracco) and brother Frank, Jr.

Gene grew up in East Liberty and Stanton Heights, attended Central Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh.  He had a quick wit and was skilled at writing song parodies.  Gene was an avid foodie, an aficionado of stage and screen musicals, and enjoyed dancing to classic swing music.  His career began in administration at CCAC and CMU before switching to corporate marketing and communications (including many years at Rockwell International).
