Evelyn Anderson Obituary

Evelyn J. (Lauric) Anderson, originally of Penn Hills (Universal), later Saltsburg and most recently Murrysville, passed away on June 10 at the age of 87.

Evey was the beloved wife of Dick Anderson, loving mother to Michelle (Joe) Fishell and Richard (Leanna) Anderson and doting grandmother to Benjamin (Madison) Fishell, Hunter Fishell, Mason Fishell, Luke Anderson and Jake Anderson. Evey is survived by her sister Gloria (Samuel) Good and preceded in death by her sister Nancy Lauric. Evey was also a favorite aunt to dozens of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

While Evey put family first throughout her life, she also had a long career that started at Mellon Bank in Downtown Pittsburgh. She brushed up on her shorthand and typing for a new job as a secretary at Westinghouse. She took a break to raise her children then went to work at C.M. Eichenlaub.

Evey was a devoted member of the Second United Presbyterian Church in Wilkinsburg and later Congruity Presbyterian Church in New Alexandria. She also was an avid card player. What family and friends will remember most is how she brought loved ones together with her cooking and baking in a home that was always open for Thanksgiving, Sunday dinners and pop ins.

Per her wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. The family will be holding a celebration of life event at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association.
