Giles Grabowski

Age 82, of Wilkins Township, died December 20, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Sophie Grabowski and brothers Ronald and Larry. He is survived by his wife Kathy and three step-children: who if not related by blood, they are certainly by love.  Carol Schwendeman (Thomas) of Ohio, David Eichner (Judith) of Georgia, and Karen Walters (Raymond) of West Deer, PA. Grandchildren: Lauren, Katie (Julia), Bailey, and Alicia. In addition, he had many nieces and nephews. Giles was a Pittsburgh diocesan priest for 11 years, then worked at the PA Unemployment Department of Labor and Industry for 26 years. After retirement, he spent 7 years working part-time for AAA. Giles volunteered at Beechwood Farms, Phipps Conservatory, and the Penn Hills Library. He was a member of Sunday’s Bread Inclusive Catholic Worship Community of Pittsburgh, the Association of Pittsburgh Priests, the East Suburban Friendship Club, and the Penn Hills AARP. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Sunday’s Bread, in care of: 3421 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, PA  15212. A memorial dinner will be held at a future date. There will be no funeral home viewing or Mass.
