Jeanie Clemmens Obituary

Jeanie (Claire) Bryson Clemmens died peacefully on July 4 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 21, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA, living much of her life in Penn Hills and later in Westmoreland County. Jeanie was a graduate of Penn Hills High School and was a proud Pitt alumna. She enjoyed mathematics, music and writing and was a substitute teacher in the Penn Hills and other school districts. She sang in many prestigious choirs and particularly enjoyed country and classical music. A creative soul, she authored several books, including the Lieutenant James mystery series (Something Fishy in Manhattan), a historical non-fiction work Upon the Moon and Woodstock, the novel Jigsaw, and many other poems and songs.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Craig Clemmens; her three children, Sarah Waltz, Katherine Clemmens (Vidal), and Alexander Clemmens; her two grandchildren, Elizabeth Waltz and Juliette Vidal; and her brother, Michael Bryson. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, 3202 North Hills Road Murrysville PA on July 13, 2023 at 4 p.m.
