Joseph Dominic Costa

Joseph, age 76, of Pittsburgh passed away on April 17, 2024. 

Joe was born on November 5, 1947, in Pittsburgh and graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1964.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lucy,  daughters Julie (Brian) Bechtold and Natalie (Thommy Eiseman) Costa. He is survived by grandchildren, Adam, Grace and Gillian. He is also survived by his brother Dominic (Nancy), Kim Ringle (Frank), and Patty Costa (John) as well as aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dolores and Joseph Costa and brothers, Wayne, Danny, John Costa.

Joe started working in the family business as a plumber at a young age and continued his work for over 50 years, retiring from West Penn Hospital in 2002. Most recently he served as the Commissioner of Wilkins Township for 17 years in addition to various boards and community organizations. 

Outside of work, Joe found great joy in being a devoted Grandfather and spending time with his Grandkids. He cherished his role as a "Pappy” to his grandchildren and there was nothing he loved more than being with them. 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Joe’s name to the Forbes Hospital Nursing Fund. 

A service to honor and remember Joe will be held at Trenz Funeral in Penn Hills.

Visitation will be Monday April 22, 2024 1-3 and 5-8 PM. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 AM.
