Louis J. DeFazio
Age 98, of Verona, passed away September 12, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Survived by his wife ‘Dolly’ ; sons Louis & Gary; daughter Carol Hopper (Ron), grandchildren Jennifer Wojton (Val), Tommy DeFazio, Ronnie Hopper, and Gina Hopper-Marshak (Zack), sister Ann Perhacs and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by infant daughter Dana Marie, siblings Frances Gentile, Vincent, Victor, and twin Joseph DeFazio. Lou was an Army veteran who served in World War II earning the Purple Heart for injuries received during the invasion of Normandy. Lou enjoyed the restaurant/catering business, owning and operating a pizza shop in the 60’s later to open DeFazio’s Italian Restaurant in the 70’s/80’s in the North Hills. His favorite pastime was horse racing, watching sports, and listening to Frank Sinatra. He lived a long fulfilled life and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
