Nancy "Nan" Seamans Gaydash, 75, of Plum, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Nancy was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1946. Nancy was a graduate of Big Beaver Falls Area High School, Rochester General Nursing School, and the University of Pittsburgh (Bachelor's degree in Sociology).
Nancy started her career as a Vista Volunteer (now known as AmeriCorps). She then went on to pursue a life-long nursing career and was particularly proud of the time she spent as a life flight nurse at Loma Linda Hospital in California and as a critical care nurse in the cardiac unit at Presybyterian Hospital in Pennsylvania. She retired as an RN in 2011. She was also elected and served as a school board member for the Big Beaver Falls Area School District.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William John Norman and Dorothy (Wallis) Seamans, and her brother James Seamans. She is survived by her two brothers, Charles and Wayne Seamans, and her sister, Margaret (Seamans) Gossard, and numerous nieces and nephews. She has two daughters: Mandy (Jeffrey) Searle of Plum, Pennsylvania; Julie (Justin) Fry of Cary, North Carolina; and three grandchildren: Aidan Searle, Ethan Searle, and Aurora Fry. Nancy loved sewing, crafting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy's favorite season was spring because she loved seeing the growth of new plants and smelling the blooming flowers.
Per Nancy's wishes, her family will scatter her ashes at an undisclosed location at a later date.
