Norman H. Colaizzi, age 95, a 64 year resident of Penn Hills and a one year resident of The Presbyterian Senior Care (Willows), passed on Saturday, June 17th. Beloved husband ( 67 years) of the late Ruth E. (McWhorter) Colaizzi. Son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (DeVito) Colaizzi. Cherished father of Sharen (David) Custer, Dennis (Marcy) Colaizzi and Elaine (Mark) Kruzynski. Loved Pap of Brian (Julie) Colaizzi, Kevin (Kara) Colaizzi and Steven C. Colaizzi.Proud Great-Pap of Madison, Sophia, Dylan and Brayden Colaizzi. Brother of Robert (Gerry) Colaizzi and Julian (Jean) Colaizzi. Brother-in-law of the late Sara and Don Sloneker and the late William and Jean McWhorter. Also survived by loved nieces and nephews. Norman was honorably discharged from the US Navy, serving during the end of WWII. He was employed as a letter carrier in Plum Borough and in 2015, received his 50 Year Gold Card from the National Letter Carriers Association. Norman was an avid sports fan, cheering and yelling at all Pittsburgh sports teams. He was an usher and past president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, where he helped with the summer church bazaars.Viewing is Tuesday, June 20th from 2-8 at CHARLES W. TRNZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. Prayers will be said Wednesday morning, June 21 at 10:00 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 at Holy Family Parish-St. John the Baptist Church, 444 St. John Street, Plum, PA 15239.
