Richard S. Hamilton, age 96, formerly of Shadyside, Penn Hills and Oakmont passed away on October 12. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to the late Patricia Hamilton; loving father to Judy (Kevin) White, Stewart (Christine) Hamilton; grandfather of Colin (Juliana) White, Hannah (Matt) Beno, Brenden Hamilton, Garrett (Christina) Hamilton. Dick grew up in Shadyside and attended Peabody and The Kiski School. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom and sister Susie Scruggs. A Navy veteran, Dick was a member of the Greatest Generation serving on USS Robert I Paine (DE 528) during WWII. He was a lifetime employee of General Electric. Dick enjoyed his sports and was an avid golfer and long time member of Alcoma (3 Lakes) Golf Club where he co-chaired multiple golf charity events over the years. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church (currently named Reconciliation Anglican Church) of Verona. The family would like to thank the staff at Longwood Senior Care and Bridges Hospice for the exemplary care provided. Private family burial ceremony at Homewood Cemetery.
