Robert Lee Barnishin went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2023 at the age of eighty-five. Born October 26, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force (Security Police) for nearly twenty-five years, including serving our country during the Vietnam War, retiring as SMSgt. During his post-military career, he resided near Fort Worth, Texas, where he earned an associates degree from Tarrant County Junior College. He began a banking career at First of Fort Worth Bank, retiring in 1994 from Bank of America. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Terry Barnishin, and children Robert Lee Barnishin, Jr., John(Jennifer) Subphamitra, Alex Barnishin, Chad (Tiffany Marie) Williams, Tiffany Joy Williams, Troy (Nicole) Williams. He had seven grandchildren, Ash (Jon Koehling) Subphamitra, Isaac Subphamitra, and Abigail Subphamitra (Aiden Williams, Declan Williams, Brody Williams, Amber Reijneart,) as well as two great-grandchildren (Ryker Barnishin and Axon Reijneart). Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Mary (Michael) Cavataio, Helen Donahue, Barbara (Paul) Aleva, Patricia (Al)Morango, John Barnishin, and several cousins, nieces,and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Elana Barnishin, and brother Tom(Dorothy) Barnishin. The family will be receiving guests at Trenz Funeral Home (11110 Frankstown Road, Pgh, PA 15235) on Wednesday, September 13, from 4-7 pm. The memorial will also be held at Trenz Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14 at 11 am. A burial with military honors will be held at Cavalry Cemetery(718 Hazelwood Avenue, Pgh, PA 15217) immediately following the memorial.
