Samuel Bourne Obituary

On Saturday November 9, 2019 Samuel Bourne, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather met the Lord at age 98.
Sam was born on February 18, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 12 and a welder by trade. A life member of the Masonic Lodge N. 529 and a Navy veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific.  A man of faith, he was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church in Penn Hills for 50 plus years.
On August 27, 1943 he married Mary Bracco Bourne the love of his life.  Sam and Mary had one son William.
Sam was avid reader especially enjoying a good Tom Clancy novel. He and his son Bill worked on projects together, creating, fixing, and improving various things on each others homes with Dad always showing Bill the right way to do things. More than anything, Sam spent his life devoted to his wife Mary for 76 years. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, vacationing and celebrating events with their family.
Sam’s grandchildren Amy Joy and Robert Bourne were a delight in his life. They had a special bond and he was very proud of them.  He was also very proud of his great grandchildren Abigail and Bryce Bourne.
He was very blessed to live in a neighborhood with caring and helpful neighbors who were like family to both him and his wife.
He is also survived by his sister Esther Swarner.
